Description:
As a volunteer in the UCSD FDC-PDS, you are expected to ensure a best effort approach is taken to hold your scheduled spots. Considerable effort is expended by the UCSD FDC-PDS Staff and Directors to ensure our opportunities are maximized.
Procedure for Waitlisted Volunteers:
- You are considered “scheduled” on the waitlist until released 72 hours before the event or clinic shift.
- Failure to accept a shift from a scheduled volunteer in excess of 72 hours before the event or clinic shift is considered a NO-SHOW, and will be assessed under the NO-SHOW policy.
- Failure to accept a clinic shift in excess of 72 hours requires the form located at http://scheduling.ucsdpds.org to document your reason for not accepting the spot.
- Failure to keep an event shift in excess of 72 hours requires notification to the event coordinator via email.
Procedure for Scheduled Volunteers:
- Volunteers looking for a replacement for their event or clinic shift are expected to do so as soon as possible to allow for processing time to occur.
- Changes within 72 hours of the event or clinic shift will be assessed under the NO-SHOW policy. Many events and all clinic shift changes require review from the appropriate staffing, and changes within this time span pose difficulty for administrative review.
- Changes within 72 hours of clinical shifts require submitting the replacement form at http://scheduling.ucsdpds.org, as well as application of a “STRIKE 1” No-Show fee, regardless of history of past strikes.
- Changes within 72 hours of an event requires notification to the event coordinator via email, and will result in the application of a “STRIKE 1” No-Show fee, regardless of history of past strikes.
